VIDEO: PATTERN TISSUE GIFT BAG (PAPER BAG STUDIOS; ROBEN-MARIE SMITH)

What could be better...a gift bag created with stitched sewing pattern tissue...fantastic!  The video is as good as one gets; the bag is beyond that.  Recycling those old patterns adds to the fun.  BTW: If you happen to need sewing patterns, check out thrift stores; they usually have stacks of them.

TUTORIAL: FABRIC CIRCLE FLOWERS (SIMPLY ME: DONNA DOWNEY)

If these aren't the perfect creation to do when sitting in front of the TV, I don't know what is.  Cut (either with scissors or a die cut machine) a stack of the circles, grap a needle and some thread...and away you go.  Do I need to say, leftovers? Big or little, you'll find all sorts of ways to use these blooms.

RECYCLE: DIY TUBE TURNER (MICHELE MADE ME; MICHELE PACEY)

Nothing is a bigger time-taker (or bigger hassle) than turning a tube right side out without a turner. If creating fabric tubes isn't on your often-do list, chances are good you don't have a turner.  TaDa!  Here you go...no more hassles.

TUTORIAL: YO-YO FLOWERS (ERICA'S CRAFT AND SEWING)

I love yo-yos...in all sizes and shapes.  They're versatile and an excellent use of left-over  fabric pieces.  Thanks to Clover-USA Yo-Yo Makers, they're made in a snap; a circle die (not a punch) speeds up things even more. Here's two ways they can be enjoyed.

TUTORIAL: SQUARE OVEN MITT (BOLT NEIGHBORHOOD)

Why didn't someone think of this before now?  A square oven mitt is so much better than that dumb mitten shape (unless your hand is HUGE).  Please note a slight change in the supply list...there should be two pieces of   INTERIOR fabric and two pieces of EXTERIOR fabric, rather than four pieces of interior fabric.

TUTORIAL/FREE DOWNLOAD: FELT OWL BROOCH (BUGS AND FISHES; LAURA HOWARD)

Two way to use this wise cutie...either as a brooch or as an embellishment on a card or layout.  If you go the embellishment route, don't stuff him (her?)...just use the front side.  Course, there's nothing that says you can't use the brooch as a removable embellishment on a card.
