MAKE IT EASY: AIR DRY CLAY/STENCIL CARD

One brass stencil, a bit of air dry clay, and a few other odds and ends went into the mix for this card. Flatten a piece of Makin's Clay over the stencil and allow to dry before lifting the clay from the stencil. Pat Clearsnap Ancient Page Lime over the dry clay, and lightly brush Jacquard Products Interference Gold Pearl Ex over portions of the clay. Heat set, then spray an acrylic varnish over the front and back of the clay.

Cut and score Pacon white card stock to form the card. Run Black Ink white Textured Paper (there are heavy threads through-out the paper) through a Xyron 510. Heavily burnish the white release paper on the adhesive to remove stickies along the edges. Remove the clear liner from the paper. Position the textured paper on the card stock and burnish.

Cut a piece of Pacon Fadeless Metallic Gold Paper that is about 3/4" shorter than the card front. Run the paper through a Xyron 510. Burnish the white release paper; remove the clear liner from the paper. Pat a heavy coat of Ancient Page Wine Plum over the gold paper. Heat set, then polish the paper with white wrapping tissue. Remove the white release paper from the inked gold paper and position it on the white textured paper. Burnish to secure the bond and to push the inked gold paper in and around the textured surface of the white paper.

Apply Aleene's Paper Glaze to the back of the clay, and position the clay on the inked gold paper. Apply pressure to secure the bond.

Cut two 6" strips of gold paper and run them through a Xyron 150. Burnish the white release paper and remove the clear liner from the front of the gold paper. With the adhesive side up, slide a paper strip into the slot when punching with a McGill, Inc. small dragonfly punch. Position the punched dragonflies on the card front and burnish in place.

Sound fiddlely? Not really, although it does help to have all the stuff at hand before you start. Silly, silly me...you knew that!

Beautiful. And I have this stencil and the butterfly punch. Just missing the air dry clay. (What brand do you use?)

I should have included the brand of the clay and will add it to the instructions. To eliminate suspense...it's Makin's Clay. It's very pilable and lightweight when dry.
