FYI: DOTTING TOOL ALTERNATIVES (WACKYLAKI; ANUTKA)

Not that long ago, someone asked a bullentin board gang what they used to make dots (impressions and markings).  Lots of tools were mentioned, but none seen here were included.  Didn't someone once say that necessity was the mother of invention?  I'm sure I heard it somewhere...
