Follow her tutorials to improve and enhance your skills with this medium. Don't get frustrated, don't get discouraged, don't throw the makers across the room...but do practice, practice, practice.
Have no desire to go Copic? Reading these tutorials will still be to your advantage. Shading and blending are shading and blending. What works with one type of marker often can be applied to another. You may have to tweak a step here and there, or use a different tool or supply, but it's worth fiddling to duplicate the results.
