MAKE IT EASY

You've got two ways to go with this magnet: leave it flat to slap on the fridge; fold it in half for a book mark. How ever it's used, it's a quickie thanks to a Rollagraph Wheel and a Magnet/Laminate cartridge. The paper is Pacon Fadeless Metallic Gold; the ink is Clearsnap Ancient Page Emerald.
Cut a 2" x 8" strip of the gold paper. Ink the wheel either with an ink cartridge in the Rollagraph handle or by rolling the wheel over an inked pad. Roll the stamp down the center of the strip;heat set the ink. Place the Magnet/Laminate cartridge in a Xyron (510 or 900) and run the strip, stamped side up, through the machine. Using either a craft knife or rotary cutter, trim the Magnet/Laminate layers to the edges of the paper. If you prefer a more narrow strip, cut more along each edge.
It's all set to use flat. To form a book mark, fold the strip in half. Place a piece of paper over the folded edge; burnish the fold with the edge of a craft stick until flat. Slightly open the two strips and slide the magnet over the edge of the paper...it'll stay in place til you remove it.
You might want to make a few of these since you're got all the stuff out...they're handy for those times when just a little gift will do it.

Never thought of the foldover magnet bookmark .. neat idea! Since I'm not a Xyron girl (got stuck on Sticky Dots years ago when you called them "the poor man's Xyron ... ha ha!), I'm going to try this with magnet sheets I've used for making my own Magnetic Poetry. Rollagraphs I have plenty of! Ooooo, these would be good gifts for my piano students to mark their pieces! Thanks for posting this.
