MAKE IT EASY: PAPER COVERED PENS

:
Here's a quickie leftovers project. A Bic Round Stic pen is recommended; discard the cap of the pen. Cut one 1 1/4" x 5" strip of paper and run the strip through a 150 Xyron (if you don't have a 150, place the cut strip of paper on Grafix Double Tack). Trim the adhesive to the paper strip; burnish the paper to the adhesive. Remove the release paper from the adhesive and wrap the paper around the pen so that one end of the paper is flush with the top of the barrel. Use a craft knife to cut away excess paper at the base of the barrel; the paper should not extend into the black area above the point (a left click will enlarge the picture). Burnish the paper to bond it securely to the barrel of the pen, especially along the top and base of the barrel.

Push the pen point into a scrap piece of STYROFOAM; do not go deeper than the paper covering the barrel. Remove the pen from the foam. Apply a thin coat of Aleene's Paper Glaze with a soft brush over the paper covering the barrel of the pen. Stick the point of the pen into the hole you punched in the foam (the pen will be upright). Allow to dry completely and apply a second coat of Glaze. Place the pen back into the foam, and allow it to dry.
Need I say these beauties are great gifts for teachers...
