MAKE IT EASY: DIY COLORED PAPER AND EMBELLISHMENTS

When we want identical colors for supplies and/or embellishments in a project,
it's usually just easier to DIY. This card is an example...I wanted the band and flowers on the hat the same color as the paper used under the hat and for the stamped saying. A piece of sketch pad paper, a small brush, and a re-inker of Clearsnap, Inc. Mica Magic Purple quickly handled the job.

A hat stamp from MNC Studio was stamped into air-dry clay and excess clay was cut away from the outer edges of the image. When the clay was dry, it was painted with MicaMagic Regal Red and Purple (what else?). A 3mm L'Oma Crystal was placed in the center of each flower and heat set in place. Metallic blue paper from Black Ink and red cardstock from Pacon were combined with the paper painted with MicaMagic Purple. The MNC Studio stamp, 'When I am an old woman...' was inked with MicaMagic Antique Gold and stamped on a small piece of the purple paper; the paper was trimmed to the outer edges of the image. Paper beads strung on Red Pearl Cotton completed the card front.
