FYI: TAKE THE CHEMICALS OUT OF YOUR HOME (THE GREEN GAL; GABRIELLE)

These all work...honest! If anyone in your home has allergies or breathing problems, consider going the chemical-free way.

Here's a some more tips to add to the list: vinegar and a stiff brush will clean grungy grout; clean and sanitize wood cutting boards with vinegar, then rinse with water; pour vinegar into vases and allow to sit overnight to remove water lines and scale; a cup of vinegar added to the washing machine at the beginning of the cycle will help remove stains. BTW: I'm talking white vinegar here...save that balsamic for the strawberries.

Click FYI (above) to see what and how.

TUTORIAL: CORN HUSK ROSE (ARTS, CRAFTS N HOBBIES; IRAM)

Using corn husks as a craft supply dates back to the first crafter who had access to corn husks (At least I think that's right!) If you're fresh out of corn, not to worry. Check out the Mexican food section in the grocery store...sometimes crafts stores have bags of them too. The husks can be easily colored by dipping into die reinkers that have been diluted with water.

SEWING MACHINE TIPS: ADJUSTING THE TENSION OF A SEWING MACHINE

Certain electronic machines automatically set the tension for the type of fabric and stitch being used. But for other machines, chances are this info will be included in your owner's manual. If you don't have a manual, and the tension in your machine is not pre-programmed, this generic info should provide the anwers. Only tid bit I'll add is to place a piece of fabric on the feed dog, lower the needle, and lower the presser foot before turning the tension knob.

Suppose you're wondering if rayon seam binding (either DIY-colored or purchased in colors) would work...yep!
