OK paper people, time to borrow another sewing notion for paper crafting. These little kits are available in the notions departments of crafts and fabric stores. The results: easy, quick and VERY inexpensive buttons in the color, size and technique you need. There's two or three brands; all work in the same way and contain the same stuff. And each provides another use for those leftover fabric bits.
BTW: Remove the shank and place a glue dot on the back of the button to secure it to a substrate (not fabric that will be laundered). One suggestion: a small, round magnet.

These paper bag flowers are different from Martha's (see May 5). Just say 'paper' at the grocery to get the needed makings. These flowers are terrific, they're inexpensive, and a beautiful recycling creation.

Jumping Joseph! These stars are bound to make an impression, regardless of the way they're used. Helen's detailed tut makes complex as easy as pie.

Yep, this is a flower tut. I prescheduled this post a good two weeks ago cause I was gone for the holiday. Unfortunately, my old brain can't remember where the star came from, and I've been racking my brain (and doing more searching than I care to admit) trying to find it.
I'll continue searching, it looks too good not to find!
Wish me luck...

TUTORIAL: FAUX LOUIS VITTON FABRIC BEAD NECKLACE (FROO GAL; KATHY G)
Could have titled this, LEFTOVERS...bits and parts of fabric work just fine. Paper works too, but you will have to be a bit careful when stuffing the ends into the hole in the bead, and it'd be a good idea to seal those beads with either a spray or brush-on acrylic before stringing them.
