If you know how to thread a sewing machine, you can create this purse. The finished size is up to you; regardless of the size, it's a great gift (provided you'll part with it). One nifty creation!

Be very careful!!! I just clicked on the template on Martha's site and I was inundated with windows opening uncontrolably. Must be some type of hack.
Thanks for posting this. I've been trying to figure out what to do for gifts for the girls in our family for Christmas. This is perfect!
I just opened the link to Martha's site...no windows for me. Haven't the faintest why Unhappy is getting them. Anyone have an answer?
Hello - this is "Unhappy" - I just tried to pull it up on a different computer in our house and it downloaded just fine. I don't know what happened before but it seems to be fine!
I'm happy you're happy! I'm not only happy...I'm relieved. Had no idea what caused the problem, and I was very concerned others would also have it. Good news for all of us.
Has anyone by any chance made this purse yet? If so, where did you get the pattern enlarged at? I went to our local copy shop and they had to do it on three sheets of paper. I cannot get them to line up, and with 3 layers it is bulky. Also, does it need some kind of stabilizer in between the layers or just the inside and outside. Thanks a bunch.
Stamping Granny,
To enlarge the template 200%: Print one copy of the template from Martha's site. Draw a line parallel to the longest strap; draw a line parallel to each side of the purse; draw a line parallel to the bottom of the purse.
Using those lines that are papallel to the outer edges of the purse, draw a grid of four equal horizontial and vertically sections. Number the sections, 1 - 16. Cut apart on the grid lines.
Using a copying machine, copy each grid piece at a 200% + setting. Tape the copied pieces together to form the pattern.
Place the pattern, grid markings up, on the shiny side of a piece of freezer paper. Cover the pattern and all exposed areas of freezer paper with scrap paper; press the pattern to the freezer paper with a hot iron. Remove the scrap paper; cut away excess freezer paper from around the outer edges of the pattern to create the cutting pattern.
Decrease the setting on the copying machine if less than a 200%
increase is desired.
As far as an interfacing...this is supposed to be a flippy, floppy purse. Depending upon the fabric selected, an interfacing could change the hand of the purse.
Thank you Nancy. My pattern is all ready now. I just need to get some fabric. Have a great day.
